Governance
The Trust Board provides:
- Strategic leadership of the trust: the board defines the trust vision for high quality and inclusive education in line with its charitable objects. It establishes and fosters the trust’s culture and sets and champions the trust strategy including determining what, if any, governance functions are delegated to the local tier
- Accountability and assurance: the board has robust effective oversight of the operations and performance of the academy trust, including the provision of education, pupil welfare, overseeing and ensuring appropriate use of funding and effective financial performance and keeping their estate safe and well maintained
- Engagement: the board has strategic oversight of relationships with stakeholders. The board involves parents, schools and communities so that decision-making is supported by meaningful engagement.
The Trustees must apply the highest standards of conduct and ensure robust governance, as these are critical for effective financial management.

Stuart FoxPrestolee Multi-Academy Trust Member (Appointed 20/01/20)
Stuart Fox
My name is Stuart Fox & I’ve been a member for three years now. Prior to this I was Chair of Trustees at the Prestolee MAT. Work constraints found me unable to give the time necessary to do justice of the role of director so I stepped down after 10 years of service. Having dealt with all elements of MAT directorship I am perfectly placed to oversee the Trust, ensuring we are performing well & meeting all the requirements of a MAT.
My association with Prestolee started when I moved into the area & started a family 20 years ago. Both of my children went through Prestolee Primary & thrived. I have always had an affinity with Prestolee & continue to ensure that the school, & now the Trust as a whole performs to the very best standards.
